I am originally from Granada, Nicaragua
I have lived in the UK, Spain, and Belgium so have first-hand experience of adapting to other cultures
I have seventen years of experience as a psychotherapist using Transactional Analysis therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, working with individuals (adults and adolescents), couples and groups.
I have a MSc in Applied Psychology (Mental Health Psychology) from the University of Liverpool.
I have a BA (Hons.) in Social Sciences and a BSc (Hons.) in Psychology.
I have a couples counselling certificate – Metanoia Institute.
I have a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Diploma – The University of the West of Scotland, UK.
I trained at the Centre pour la Formation et l’Intervention Psychologique in Brussels and at the Institut d’Analyse Transactionnelle in Lille, France, the Metanoia Institute in London and at the Open University.
I continue to grow as a therapist and as a person by building on my Transactional Analysis training and undertaking further personal development such as short courses and workshops in group practice, psychopathology, working with adult survivors of sexual abuse, couples counselling, the emotional and psychological development of children and adolescents, and acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion focused therapy as well as training at Reading University to work with people suffering from trauma and with complex trauma.
